Supporter Membership is for individuals who believe in the vision of stronger, more connected and sustainable communities across Australia.
Whether you are exploring community living, interested in sustainability, a former community member, a volunteer, an advocate or simply someone who wants to support positive social and environmental change, Supporter Membership provides an opportunity to be part of the movement.
As Australia’s national peak body for intentional communities, co-housing, ecovillages, landshare and other community-led housing models, AEON brings together people and organisations working towards more resilient, inclusive and regenerative ways of living.

Membership Policy
Eligibility
Supporter Membership is open to any individual who:

Supports AEON’s Objects and mission.
-
Has an interest in intentional communities, sustainable living or community-led housing.
-
Wishes to contribute to the development of Australia’s intentional community sector.
-
Agrees to comply with AEON’s Constitution, Code of Conduct and relevant policies.
No professional qualifications or organisational affiliation are required.
Applications are generally approved upon completion of the membership process, provided the applicant meets the eligibility requirements.
Member Responsibilities
Supporter Members agree to:

Respect AEON’s Objects and values.

Engage respectfully with other members.
-
Maintain accurate contact details.
-
Comply with the Constitution, Code of Conduct and relevant policies.
-
Pay membership fees when due.
-
Support a respectful, inclusive and constructive community culture.
Membership Renewal
Membership is renewed annually.
Renewal is subject to:
-
Payment of annual membership fees.
-
Continued compliance with AEON’s policies.
Membership Status
Supporter Membership is a non-voting membership category.
Supporter Members:
-
Do not vote at General Meetings.
-
Do not elect Membership Panels.
-
Do not nominate representatives to Membership Panels.
-
May participate in public consultations, volunteer activities, educational programs and other opportunities made available by AEON.
This membership category is designed to encourage broad community participation while preserving the representative governance structure established in the Constitution.
Suspension or Termination
Membership may be suspended or cancelled where a member:
-
Seriously breaches AEON’s Constitution or Code of Conduct.

Acts in a manner that materially damages AEON’s reputation or objectives.
-
Provides false or misleading information in their application.
-
Fails to pay membership fees following reasonable notice.
Any suspension or termination will be managed in accordance with principles of procedural fairness, including written notice and an opportunity to respond.
Terms & Conditions
By applying for Supporter Membership, you agree that:

Membership is subject to approval by AEON.
-
Membership fees are payable annually and are generally non-refundable once membership has commenced, except where required by law.

Supporter Membership is a non-voting membership category and does not include constitutional voting rights.
-
Membership does not create any employment, agency or representative relationship with AEON.
-
Members may identify themselves as an AEON Supporter Member but must not imply that they speak on behalf of AEON unless specifically authorised.
-
Personal information will be collected, stored and managed in accordance with AEON’s Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy legislation.

Members may receive communications regarding events, research, advocacy, educational opportunities and organisational updates. Members may opt out of promotional communications where permitted by law.
-
Members may resign at any time by providing written notice. Membership fees already paid are generally not refundable.
-
AEON reserves the right to amend membership policies, benefits and terms from time to time, with notice provided in accordance with the Constitution.
